MadeByChristinHi! I am Christin and welcome to my site!

I would like to start by thanking you for jumping on this page. It’s nice to know that there are people who are also interested to meet the illustrator behind the illustrations that I hope have affected you in one way or another.

I am a self-taught artist living in Manila, Philippines. My current medium of choice is watercolour and the more I learn about it, the more I fall deeper in love. It is the only medium that cannot be completely controlled and that, in my opinion, is its biggest charm. I love having water as an active partner in my painting process. It’s unpredictability gives my work an organic feel where imperfections are revered rather than repaired.

I paint to satisfy an urge to create something with my own hands: painting what I see in reality as well as what I see in my dreams/imagination. My art is usually influenced by my love for fashion,  picturesque scenes, as well as fantastical fairy tale themes, to name a few. It can be described as both positive and whimsical in nature.

If you want to get to know me better, please hop on to my How I Started page where I talk in detail about my beginnings, and/or my blog where I share snippets of my musings and learnings, with an emphasis on living an enjoyable life that is filled with passion. Let us all find beauty in the everyday and surround ourselves with it.

Thanks for reading!

  1. hopefully there wont be a finish line 😀 im glad you are pursuing your dreams. never take another suckers job again.

  2. That is wonderful that you found what you were missing. I went through similar three years ago when I took up learning to draw and paint, having ignored art throughout my education in favour of computing. I did have the dream to maybe try painting later in life, after I retire, but fortunately my wife suggested I take up lessons much earlier in life! It’s been a full-on preoccupation of mine since then, and it is only picking up speed! Creating art, appreciating art, seeking art out, and writing about my art studies in my blog! I can’t believe I did none of that before 2010! I’m pleased for you that you might be on the same trip – well your own version! 🙂

    1. It’s a good thing you took the advice of your wife! And to have met someone on a similar journey as I is rather uplifting! I’m excited for what the future has in store for us.

      Happy creating!

I have been wanting to learn how to paint traditionally and it was refreshing to see your work. keep it up!
